Donauinselfest II

Yesterday we went to see Mono & Nikitaman, a dancehall massive from Germany. Unluckily their keyboarder didn't get there in time for the concert, so they started off singing over classical reggae anthems. After a while they decided to play without him and still rocked the house. If you ever get a chance, go see them live!!!!
Well I should go study now...

Comments

Hi everyone,
finally I figured out how to let everyone comment my blog. So please take advantage of it and let me know what you think....

Summer is here

Well, the semester is coming to an end. One more exam on Monday and we´re off to St. Gallen to go to the Open Air (www.openairsg.ch). Then we´ll come back to Vienna and prepare for the congress in August (www.behav.org) and my brother´s sandsculpting event (www.sandskulpturen.ch). That´s where I´ll spend most of August. In September I will start my job as beaver hunter. (no, guys, not that kind of beaver). Actually we will relocate some animals in Lower Austria, to avoid confrontations with farmers and lumberjacks. So for anyone who wants to stop by, come in July or September.

This weekend is the Donauinselfest in Vienna, where a lot of bands play for free. Yesterday we saw Kinderzimmer Productions, Blumentopf, and Mr. Arrogant, Samy Deluxe (=Mongo). Luckily I was drunk enough not to care that much. Tonight Mono and Nikitaman are gonna put the stage on fire (http://www.mono-nikitaman.de). Hopefully I´ll manage to shoot some pics and put them online.
Allright, everybody enjoy their summer break and keep your heads up.....

Good site

My friend Karen sent me this link to an awesome site. It's a group in Cali that monitors and engages in conservation of larger birds (esp falcons). http://www2.ucsc.edu/scpbrg/index.htm

Trip to Illmitz

Today we went to the biological survey station in Illmitz at Lake Neusiedl in eastern Austria. We saw and heard many birds, checked out some bioacustics gear and ringed a few individuals. Some of the highlights are shown below. Sadly enough, none of us have a good enough camera to actually catch all the birds we see onto pictures. I´ll keep on trying though....
By the way, it´s Ira´s B-Day on Sunday and we´re gonna party up all weekend. Pics will follow....
